CENSORED?

18 Dec

So there is this article on cnn.com today about this “battle over Christmas.”  I got to wondering about this one thing.  Which symbols are being disparaged by our culture?  I can certainly understand that Christmas carols being targeted since the speak of the origin of christianity, Jesus.  But, as I look around, I don’t see many things that connect with the birth of Christ.  Sure people are saying “happy holidays!” and not “merry Christmas!”  It just seems that we care more about our traditions than the meanings.  We care about symbols and want them up, but we don’t take their symbolism seriously.  I don’t know…it’s just interesting to hear people arguing about this to the point of passing laws promoting Christmas symbolism.  We should spend more time emphasizing it in our personal lives.  If we don’t, we use the government mandate as our excuse to opt out of the heart of the tradition.  Christmas isn’t a shopping season…but what do I know?

Well, there hasn’t been much happening in the way of drilling. We are currently seeking a second opinion and a third opinion on the research findings from our geologist in Lodwar, Kenya. Since it is a significant investment and there is so much riding on it, we want to make sure that we are certain as we could possibly and reasonably be about drilling a bore hole for water. Still praying and still waiting.
